Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role: Wintel Lead Admin/ VMware Lead
Location: London, UK
The ideal person should have experience in large scale production support server environment and will manage all datacenter operations with business.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Extensive working knowledge on any of the patch management/deployment tools like SCCM, Jetpatch, Puppet, BigFix, System Frontier, etc.
- Good knowledge on MS WSUS deployment, configuration and patch management
- Extensive working knowledge on VMware Cluster and DR environments
- Expert working knowledge of VMWARE ESX 6.X, 7.X, Hyper-V Assessment , Design , Implementation, configuration, ESX Configuration , VM build & configuration, SRM configuration experience
- Hands-on knowledge in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Windows Admin and expert knowledge on Nutanix Infrastructure
- Hand-on knowledge on various RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5 etc.)
- Strong knowledge on Storage & Networking concepts
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge Microsoft Cluster administration is preferred & good hands on experience on Windows Platform with 2008/2012/2016/2019 operating systems
- Private & Public Cloud Technologies
- VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) 6.x 7.x
Responsibilities:
- Implementation of the patches using Change Management procedures.
- Secure approvals and perform the patching on the servers as per the patching window provided by the client.
- Govern and monitor deployment of patches from the patch tool and notify respective stake holders upon completion.
- Special instructions to be followed by technical teams like reboot sequence or checking the application services in case it is provided by Application support teams.
- Track the patch compliance and provide weekly and monthly reports to stake holders
- Maintain consistent patch compliance levels of 99% and higher
- Take a role of SPOC for all patching and vulnerability management in Windows
- Handling Data Center Operations with Business & Mission Critical applications
- Handling escalated incidents or high critical tickets
- Predicting Risk/Impact and Participating in Major Changes
- Reporting & Performance Dashboards with Capacity Planning
