ABOUT THE ROLE

We are now recruiting for a Winemaking Technical Assistant to join our Berri Winemaking team. Reporting to our Lead Winemakers, you will be working as part of a tight-knit team, maintaining the Berri Winery packaging production notes in collaboration with the production planning and winemaking teams. In this role you will undertake technical operations to ensure wine standards are exceptional and met in line with regulatory requirements.
You will be based in our Berri Estate Winery in the Riverland, in this full-time and permanent role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist in the production planning of packaging operations to ensure efficient movement of product from the winery
  • Manage the logistics of offsite wine storage at contract facilities through winemaking software (Vintrace)
  • Contribute to review of winemaking processes and procedures
  • Create tools to aid processing of wines and communication between winemaking teams
  • Plan and prioritise work schedules in advance, in consultation with winemakers, to meet requirements
  • Manage winemaking sample requests; ordering and preparation for tastings in conjunction with QA and winemaking
  • Write additive and processing notes where required during the vintage period
  • Technical research as required
