ABOUT US
Turning Leaf is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides person-centered, crisis and treatment
services to low and high-risk vulnerable and marginalized individuals living with mental illness and
intellectual challenge in our community. Turning Leaf’s support is customized to every individual’s
needs and risk level. We offer crisis-intervention and treatment services, community support, day
program services, residential support (including emergency housing, 24-hour homes, cluster housing,
and home share), a harm reduction program, clinical services, indigenous services and more.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Intensive Home Supports, the IHS Administrative Assistant will respond to
various requests from staff throughout the organization, including, but not limited to, the Office
Manager, Human Resources, Intake Manager, Senior Manager of Service Enhancement, Senior IHS
Clinical Support Case Managers, IHS Clinical Support Case Managers, and the Director of Intensive
Home Supports. Their role is to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the IHS Program.
The IHS Administrative Assistant will ensure that all functions comply with existing organizational policies
(e.g., financial policies) and will be responsible for rotating after-hours emergency coverage for Turning
Leaf properties (generally one week on, one week off). The portfolio of assigned tasks may change
based on departmental needs.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Cover letter and updated resume
- 18 years of age or older
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Adult Abuse (no older than six
months)
- Child Abuse Registry Checks (no older than three months)
- Minimum two years related work experience
- Valid First Aid/CPR
- Drivers license with access to a reliable vehicle
- Completion of a Post-Secondary Education in Human Services (Certificate, Diploma or Degree)
is considered an asset

- Actively participate in the process of securing and opening new IHS housing

o Maintain a comprehensive awareness of all Building Code, Fire Code or Public Health
measures which impact the IHS Division

o Conduct meter readings when necessary and report to RAC.
- Repair and Maintenance of properties
o Maintain a comprehensive awareness of all IHS locations and their repair and
maintenance needs.
Licensing:
- Maintain a comprehensive awareness of all IHS locations which are licensed, ensure that all
regions maintain licensing practices throughout the year, and proactively prepare for licensing
at least 3 months prior to license expiry.

Turning Leaf IHS Vehicles:
- Maintain a comprehensive awareness of all IHS locations and their vehicle needs
