Job Description
Join our team and support our expanding traffic and roadway safety practice in Ontario. You will have the opportunity to broaden your experience by being exposed to many aspects of transportation, including traffic operational studies, roadway and railway safety reviews, traffic data collection and processing, research and literature reviews, and consultation with different stakeholders. The position can be based out of either our Burlington, Ontario or Mississauga, Ontario offices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Co-op student currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and have demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Well-developed written and communication skills with the ability to integrate illustrations and diagrams into written materials to communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Detail-oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy,
  • Experience and knowledge in transportation studies, including traffic safety and operational studies is an asset
  • Knowledge of the provincial and national guidelines and manuals, including Ontario Traffic Manuals, MUTCDC, Highway Safety Manual, and different TAC guidelines is an asset
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license
    The expected salary for this position is from $22.50 to $28.00 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills, and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the transportation project team with traffic operations and safety studies
  • Assist in technical analysis, using tools such as VISSIM, AIMSUN, Synchro, GIS, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations related to current or prospective projects
  • Assist in collecting and processing transportation data
  • Assist and conduct site visits and field surveys
  • Assist in the preparation of stakeholder consultation material and presentation
