Position Summary:
Teaching Assistant position as governed by the AGSEM Collective Agreement.
Please note that Teaching Assistants are required to be on campus to perform their tasks in person.

Qualifications:
For all courses:
- having been a TA for the course previously, is a plus
- chemical engineering degree
- WHMIS certification is a must
Resource Recovery and Circular Use (CHEE 301):
- Must have taken CHEE301.
Physical Chemistry for Engineers (CHEE 310):
- Background in chemical kinetics and/or reactions engineering.
Process Modelling (CHEE 440):
- Having taken an undergraduate or graduate course equivalent to CHEE440.
- Proficient in applied mathematics for chemical engineering.
- Proficient in chemical engineering process modeling: discrete models and continuous models.
- Mathematical skills: working knowledge of linear and nonlinear algebra, vector and tensor algebra and calculus solution methods for coupled algebraic equations, partial and ordinary differential equations, integro-differential equations, difference equations optimization with constraints, calculus of variation, scaling methods, approximation methods.
- Ability to conduct tutorials and office hours on course topics involving chemical engineering applied mathematics.
- Ability to grade quizzes and midterms in chemical engineering applied mathematics.
- Problem solving teaching skills in applied mathematics.
Design Project (CHEE 456D1/D2):
- Advanced knowledge of HYSYS software.
Biochemical Engineering (CHEE 474):
- Experience operating a microbial stirred tank bioreactor.
Materials Engineering (CHEE 484):
- Have taken the course or have previously worked with ANSYS EduPack and EcoAudit.
Instrumentation & Measurement II (CHEE491):
- Experience with data acquisition and control.
Catalysis for Sustainable Fuels and Chemicals (CHEE 511):
- Experience in heterogeneous catalysis (i.e., synthesis and characterization of materials) and reaction kinetics.
Nanomaterials and the Aquatic Environment (CHEE 521):
- Ideally, the candidate will have previously completed CHEE 521 or CIVE 521.
Polymer Science and Engineering (CHEE582):
- Experience in Polymer Research
- Must have taken a 500 level Polymer course
Foundations of Fluid Mechanics (CHEE 631):
- Have completed a Graduate Level Fluid Mechanics course.
Process Dynamics and Control (CHEE 672):
- Must have taken CHEE672 or an equivalent graduate course elsewhere.
Laboratory Safety 2 (CHEE682):
- Experience as a TA with lab safety.
