Responsibilities:

You are responsible for the development of our innovative Wireless connectivity products, ranging from antennas to active systems, spanning from classical sub7 GHz to mm-wave frequencies with a particular focus on solutions in the transportation sector.
Your tasks as a Wireless Product Engineer, range from concept through system creation to final release for production, including choice of materials, technology, sub-items, suppliers, manufacturing and testing processes. Antennas, RF front-end as well as active components are part of your expertise, being responsible for work-packages and/or by leading full projects with internal and external development partners.
You are exposed to customers and work proactively in understanding their needs and pain points playing a central role in defining the wireless product characteristics and defining the necessary development stages.
In the context of these product development efforts you will join our Wireless PMD (Product Management and Development) organization, collaborating with mechanical engineering and antenna specialists, product managers and project leaders. You will also be in contact with other customer-facing colleagues including Sales and Business Development teams to support the general growth of H+S wireless connectivity.

Some examples of typical activities to help you grasp an idea of the daily work:

  • Requirements engineering - collecting and assessing technical specifications together with external and internal stakeholders
  • Creating concepts for passive and/or active antennas and/or wireless connectivity systems
  • Lead development project and be responsible of technology & product development
  • Supporting feasibility studies for the above
  • Perform design and verification activities
  • Specify testing and production processes
  • Create/maintain relevant documentation (e.g. product requirements, data sheets, BOM, overview drawings, part drawings, etc.
  • Engineering for business: Support Sales and Business Development to win tenders and/or RFQs.
  • Finally, you are also responsible for the technical customer interface. This includes clarification and discussion of technical customer inquiries, discovery & understanding the real customer needs & pains. Customer visits and proactive customer relationship are also part of the expected activities.
