As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 14 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Working as an integral part of the Employment and Future Skills Department, reporting directly to the Team Leader, Stitsma, This position is responsible for working one-on-one with clients to identify job-related needs and determine optimal training or employment-seeking options. The portion of the position consists of visits to the WLNG site in Squamish several times per week, developing an Action Log for discussion at regular meetings with WLNG prime contractors and flexibility regarding working locations. The WLNG Liaison serves as the primary contact for the Squamish Nation Employment and Future Skills department with WLNG and their prime contractors facilitating an effective working relationship. The position ensures that the Impact Benefit Agreement for the Eagle Mountain – Woodfibre gas pipeline project (EGP), specifically the training and employment sections, are implemented. The incumbent will establish and coordinate communications, logistics, reporting, along with providing analysis, and technical support to SN. The opportunity requires thorough project management, is highly detailed oriented, and works well in team environment. Operates at a high level of people interaction and must be able to respond with courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
