Description:

The Work, Health and Skills Team in Economic Affairs have a vacancy in the team for a Work and Health Officer to support the work, health and skills agenda.
Supporting the economy and our residents during this unprecedented time is more crucial than ever and never has the co-dependency of work and health been more apparent. We have a new innovative and exciting project which will support our residents with health conditions return to and stay in work.
This post will oversee the new Work Well project, which is part of a NHS Vanguard pilot, the project will build on our single access point and our social media, Get Rochdale Working, supporting residents who are in work or recently unemployed by offering advice about the most appropriate options and understanding the barriers people face. This role involves building on our strong relationships with our partner organisations, generating referrals and coaching and motivating the team to support our residents during a difficult time. This role will involve having a small caseload of residents, supporting them through a personalised action plan in order to achieve their potential.
This post will require someone with excellent communication, digital and organisational skills in order to reach their own and support the team to reach their KPI’s, whilst maintaining an excellent level of support, keeping the resident’s goals at the centre of what we do and being flexible in the way we work.
The team, work at both a borough wide and at neighbourhood levels, coordinating the work and skills offer and embedding it in the wider offer of the council and our partners, engaging with businesses and making sure all residents benefit from these opportunities and appropriate support is available for some of the most marginalised people in our communities.
The team have a good understanding of the work and skills offer across the Rochdale Borough and are able to attend multidisciplinary meetings in order to explain the support available. The team also work closely with a wide range of partners including; council staff, police, social housing providers, NHS, public health, social care and drug and alcohol professionals to help people to change their behaviours and improve their lives.
Rochdale Council is a Cooperative Council, which involves changes in how it delivers its services involving residents more in the decision making process and working, thinking and acting more co-operatively as a council and borough for, ultimately, the benefit of the people and the place. This will be more important than ever going forward with more partnership opportunities being developed to help improve the lives of our residents.
