Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Workstudy Assistant to join our Workstudy Department.
The Jelson group of companies have a wide range of businesses with our main business being construction (new homes, industrial and commercial), along with transport, manufacturing, hospitality, garages, and plumbing/electrical companies.
This is a full-time position to support the Workstudy department within the Jelson Group. The role will require you to support the processing of any hours/calculations of bonus for weekly trades and fortnightly payments for subcontract trades and support the team with all administration duties.

Responsibilities:

KEY TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Weekly & fortnightly processing of hours/bonus calculations/ travel payments for direct labour trades, fixed pay and apprentices to tight deadlines
  • Processing of sub-contractor payments
  • Maintaining payment record sheets up-to-date following completion of each payment run
  • Analytically minded with the ability to spot errors and trends.
  • Manage and maintain filing systems and databases
  • Create a sub-contractor database with all contact details, in line with the company Data Protection Policy
  • Taking ownership of this area of work and liaising with the work study department regarding weekly, fortnightly & monthly payments
  • Be able to adapt and perform general administration tasks as and when required to meet the needs of the department
  • Any other appropriate duties as requested.
  • To progress any procedures or processes that will benefit the work study department.
  • GPDR compliant at all times.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

  • Be able to confidently manage and work on Microsoft Office packages, predominantly Excel at intermediate level
  • Experience of working as a bonus payment clerk would be advantageous
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude towards working and learning
  • Be a team player and happy to liaise with other departments within the business
  • Strong attention to detail and be used to working with numerical payment sheets
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to work to very tight deadlines
