Description:

Arriva is one of the leading providers of passenger transport in Europe, delivering nearly two billion passenger journeys across ten European countries each year.
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our People Solutions Team as Workday Senior Functional Specialist - Performance and Talent operating from the Arriva Corporate Centre.
This role is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of Talent and Performance processes and implementation of updates and changes to configuration, security and business processes in our HR system, Workday.
This role adds value to HR, Payroll, and business end users through ensuring efficient HR processes whilst ensuring we adopt, and not adapt, out of the box functionality where possible.
The role can be based with colleagues in either our London or Sunderland office, a minimum of 2 days per week with the rest focusing on where you can best deliver, whilst still allowing for the required work life balance. The role operates Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week with 1 hour lunch per day.

We’re looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual, able to demonstrate their expertise in delivery of HR processes, data and systems including Workday.
Candidates must have completed relevant training in relation to Workday Talent and Performance.

We’re also looking for candidates with:

  • Ability to proactively troubleshoot issues and conduct knowledge transfer with end users.
  • A highly analytical and customer service driven mind-set.
  • Passion for simplification and continuous improvement.
  • Experience of working in a global organisation.

  • Experience with core HR processes and interaction between HR and payroll/other external systems such as time recording and recruiting.
  • Experience of dealing with multi-national organisations.

  • Experience of sales & divestitures and the impact on Workday.
  • Experience aligning with areas of the product that involve the most innovation, configuration and consulting opportunities.
  • Attained or working towards Workday Pro for Performance and Talent.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Supporting Functional Specialists within the team to deliver the People Solution’s solution for Talent and Performance, building relationships with key stakeholders to agree a continuous improvement for the way in which core HR transactions and processes are delivered.
  • Acting as SME for Workday Talent and Performance, responsible for the maintenance, change requests and upgrades across these areas.
  • Responsibility for assessing all change impacts in relation to these areas and following the governance model in place to reduce risk and identify improvement.
  • Responsibility for configuring and maintaining and reports that fall under the category of Talent and Performance.
  • Responsibility for configuring and maintaining any updates to the business processes and security policies.
  • Data management; correcting and uploading data through Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).
  • Responsibility for testing of any new functionality or upgrades/releases.
  • Actively working and supporting resolution of escalated issues; managing incidents, tracking ticket status’ and partnering with other support teams as necessary to resolve working to SLA’s.
  • Identifying and recommending process areas that could be simplified, improved, or changed; to enhance user experience and drive simplification.
  • Supporting with maintenance of training activities and materials, including user guides, FAQ, recorded demos, SharePoint content, etc.
  • Providing project support as required; disentanglement, new functionality, new modules etc.
