As part of EY’s focus on the people agenda of organizations and change initiatives, our People Advisory Services (PAS) professionals assist our clients in successfully managing and sustaining people, process and/or technology change. This includes the identification and management of stakeholders, leadership development, organizational design, training, mergers and acquisitions, cultural assessment and development, talent management, workforce strategies, and planning and executing key communications.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Manager for our PAS practice in the HR M&A Transactions team. This team services clients with a full range of hands-on, operationally focused support and advice across the M&A transaction life cycle, for both buy and sell side M&A deals. We cover a wide range of HR operational aspects, including HR divestiture advisory services, carve-out readiness and support, HR due diligence, HR Day 1 readiness, 100-Day planning, integration process support, operating model and organizational design.

Responsibilities:

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and deliver all aspects of HR and Organizational Design services throughout the M&A transaction lifecycle, including:
  • HR due diligence and red flag reports
  • Day 1 HR function readiness
  • HR TSA services design and delivery
  • Operating model and organizational design
  • Talent planning and transitioning
  • HR project management support
  • Assist in identifying risks and issues related to HR integration/separation planning, timelines and functional areas.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in the Human Resources functional area.
  • Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Focus on deliverables and client business priorities. Manage expectations of service. Understand the client’s industry and recognize key performance drivers and business trends.
  • Lead client engagement teams and work with a wide variety of clients to deliver professional services.
  • Develop and successfully manage risk, project economics and escalations and ensure effective planning and budgeting
  • Contribute to thought leadership and develop and enhance collateral, tools, techniques. methodologies to build and enhance HR M&A offering with the practice.
  • Develop people by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/training, fostering an innovative and team-oriented work environment.
  • Flexibility and ability to travel for client projects; willingness to travel on short notice to meet client needs.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Approximately 5-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in a number of the following M&A enablement areas: HR due diligence, Day 1 HR function readiness, operating model and organizational design, talent planning and transitioning, HR TSA services design and delivery.
  • Experience in complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, carve-outs.
  • Experience in selling and delivering projects that cover the full life-cycle of assessment, design and implementation support.
  • Demonstrated record in driving revenue within existing clients and in developing new prospects at the “c” level of fortune 500 companies.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
