Description:
A new and exciting opportunity within the People & Organisational Development (People &OD) function has arisen here at Gloucestershire Hospitals.
The newly revised role of Workforce Planning Manager has been established to support the workforce planning agenda at our Acute Trust.

Central to this is our workforce and as the Workforce Planning Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring we as a trust deliver this through effective, timely and coordinated workforce planning.
You will work collaboratively with both Strategic Lead Workforce Planning & Information and the Head of People Planning & Workforce Information Team to deliver the implementation of this Trusts Workforce Strategy and agenda, with a particular focus on workforce planning.
Working with the Head of People Planning & Workforce Information Team and other HR colleagues, including Divisional HRBPS and Advisors, you will provide strategic guidance and support on the commissioning and planning for future workforce requirements. This will transcend to working across other organisations within the Integrated Care Services (ICS) to ensure commissioning and planning assumptions are credible.
As the Workforce Planning Manager, you will provide expert advice and guidance on a range of strategic workforce planning issues and related projects.

The main duties include, but are not limited to -
Workforce Planning and Redesign
- To work together with the Strategic Lead Workforce Planning & Information and Head of People Planning & Workforce Information Team to provide information and guidance on approaches, tools and models for workforce planning.
- Establish and maintain systems that provide a range of related statistical information, reports etc
- Work closely with Finance and Business Information (BI) to ensure triangulated approach to workforce planning
- To support the operational planning process, both annual and Long-Term Workforce Plan across the trust as directed, ensuring partnership working with ICS colleagues
- To support Divisional HRBPs in implementing the annual workforce planning process. Working with Workforce Information colleagues and BI to ensure provision of statistical information/data to support this process.
- Work on a range of projects and programmes as directed, applying skills and knowledge flexibly to meet operational and strategic aims across the trust.
Workforce Information and Analytical
- Expert level of skill in information analysis and synthesis, including the ability to receive highly complex and sensitive information on staff and financial details and the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from it, and synthesise new knowledge from the findings. The data may be conflicting and contentious to those receiving it.
- Ability to identify problems and inconsistencies with complex data and produce workable solutions.
- Ability to produce high quality written reports using a range of Microsoft office programmes and tools, and other software.
