PMCO OVERVIEW

PMco is an Atlantic Canadian company specializing in commercial property management and commercial construction based out of our head office in Dartmouth Crossing, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We have several different types of management agreements including full property management, financial management, asset management, leasing management, and maintenance management. We currently manage over 650,000 square feet of commercial properties.
Our construction division focuses on commercial projects ranging from maintenance calls to full fit-up/renovations. We typically have between 5 - 15 active projects at any given time with a team of office staff as well as on site managers.
We are a growing company, looking to add to our team!

SUMMARY

The Foreperson, under the direction of the Project Manager, is primarily responsible for all aspects of daily operations on worksites with a carpentry background who can do a bit of it all! Framing (steel and wood), door/hardware installs, drywall, basically a jack of all tradesperson. They monitor workers and subcontractors to ensure that duties are being completed in accordance with PMco policies, giving training and mentoring as required. Responsible for completing daily logs and submitting weekly progress pictures.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication, time management, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Have a background interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Red Seal and Gold Seal would be considered assets.
  • Willingness to put it all out there to keep clients happy and execute projects successfully

Responsibilities:

  • Depending on size of job site, supervise or assist with supervision of all on-site operations.
  • Maintain overall project schedule.
  • Work with local governing authorizes.
  • Ongoing communication with the PMco Project Coordinator/Manager or superintendent regarding all project activities.
  • Coordination and supervision of PMco site personnel and subcontractors.
  • Carry out carpentry duties as required.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate project documents.
  • Provide deficiency lists to Project Coordinator/Manager to be sure everyone is aware of work remaining.
  • Completion of quantity takeoffs for site materials and subsequent negotiation of optimal pricing for supplies.
  • Participate in project site meetings, host required site safety meetings.
  • Retain a current set of As Built project drawings for subtrade updates; submit upon project completion if required.
  • Promptly submit purchase orders, material packing slips and receipts.
  • Actively participate in problem solving, dispute resolution and risk management solutions.
  • Maintain overall project schedules.
  • Regular interaction and promotion of positive relations with fellow PMco team members, clients, subtrades and suppliers; by phone, email and in person.
  • Support further company development through creativity and interest in broadening PMco capabilities.
  • Assist with special projects and source or research materials and products as required.
  • Ensure all work is executed in accordance with the PMco safety program.
  • Take ownership and accept responsibility for actions.
  • Actively listen and share information as and when needed.
  • Work together co-operatively and support fellow co-workers.
