Working student – Data Science

Rapidly advancing digitalization is leading to ever new requirements for all data-processing areas of society. In mobility and industrial processes in particular, the importance of efficient data processing and data-based decision-making is becoming ever more essential. We are developing solutions that contribute to data-based decision-making through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods and are looking for support from a student.

Your Tasks:

• You will support and contribute to the development, implementation and analysis of data-driven models, especially in the areas of data science and artificial intelligence, mainly with a focus on time series analysis, as well as the implementation of algorithms in web apps.
• You will work with complex data sets to gain insights and support strategic decisions.
• You will work with different departments of the company to understand business challenges and find individual solutions for data analysis.

Necessary Skills:

• Ongoing studies in computer science, mathematics, data science or a comparable degree program
• Basic knowledge of statistics and/or machine learning
• Initial programming skills, especially in Python
• Fluency in written and spoken German and/or English
• Hands-on mentality
• Motivation and ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills, open-mindedness and ability to work in a team

Desired Skills:

• Initial experience in web development (e.g. REST APIs, JSON, Websocket, Django, React)
• Knowledge of ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch and their use on GPUs
• Experience in the use of Git and possibly GitLab
• Knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes and/or Helm
• Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Practical experience with SQL and database systems
• Interdisciplinary thinking and agile mindset as well as understanding of (automotive) technical systems
