Description:
OVERVIEW
SHP is looking for an Interim Senior Building Surveyor/Capital Works Project Manager to manage the delivery and implementation of planned/capital works. The role is to oversee many capital-building projects from inception to completion by ensuring that they are delivered within time and budget with the desired quality. The successful candidate will head the project teams, engage with stakeholders, and provide the compliance of procurement strategies and construction better practices.
SKILLS
- Proven experience in managing multiple construction projects, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Expertise in large and complex corporate real estate developments.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing both external project managers and internal teams.
- Knowledgeable about construction contracts, particularly those utilizing JCT and NEC frameworks.
- Familiar with the stages of a construction project, including the RIBA phases.
- Experience in overseeing construction projects as a client-side project manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree, HNC, or a comparable qualification in a related area (such as Building Surveying, Construction Management, or Project Management or training or similar qualifications)

Responsibilities:
- Task management: Ensures the organization, execution, and completion of the asset plant undertaking, ensuring seasonal and budget-conscious delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Keep lines of communication open and efficient with internal teams, clients, contractors, and consultants to match project objectives with client specifications.
- Procurement & adherence: Advice on procurement plans, supervision of the selection of advisors and contractors, and bonding to related contracts and standards (e.g., JCT/NEC Agreement ).
- Lead and inspire both external and internal project teams, making sure they are in line with performance standards and project goals.
- Financial & Development Monitoring: Examine the project cost report, and the path to be followed, and ensure that the undertaking stays within the budget during the achievement of the excellence criteria.
- Novelty & Value for Money: To increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of an undertaking, modern assembly materials and tactics are integrated.
- The transfer and post-completion reviews shall ensure that all documentation of the undertaking is complete, and the post-occupancy evaluation shall be carried out to ensure continuous improvement.
