Description:
EXPERIENCE:
- Automotive Electrical or Mechanical trade certificate in heavy vehicles, plant, motor mechanic or equivalent
- Demonstrated at least 2 – 3 years’ experience working on heavy machinery is desirable
- Experience and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems
- Experience and knowledge of fault diagnostics and software
- Forklift licence desirable
- Current drivers licence essential
- Current EWP High Risk License an advantage

Responsibilities:
YOUR NEW ROLE:
As the Workshop Auto Electrician, your role will be to undertake scheduled maintenance, diagnostic fault finding and repairs, major inspections and new machine pre delivery inspections including the fitting of accessories on equipment such as elevating work platforms, telescopic handlers, skid steers and forklifts. With an extremely diverse range of work no 2 days will be the same.
Critical Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic fault finding and repairs to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Scheduled maintenance
- Major inspections and subsequent repairs in accordance with AS10896.1
- Workshop based accessory fitting including attachments
- Pre Delivery inspections
- Safety/Quality
- Cross Functional Support
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake pre-delivery inspections and modifications on new machines
- Read, understand and utilise electrical diagrams/schematics
- Install electrical accessories on new or used equipment
- Test and replace faulty parts where required
- Use manufacturers diagnostic tools and computers to calibrate and fault find systems
- Complete PDI checklists and Service Reports to standards required
- Ensure unused parts are credited back to stock at job completion
- Liaise with spare parts team to determine parts required to carry out works according to scope
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times
- Cross functional support where required - general service and maintenance work
- Work in a safe manner, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided, comply with requirements of the current health and safety legislation and report hazards
- Work in compliance with established workplace policies and procedures
- Use Manitou systems and tools to log job status, job reports, consult documentation, escalate issues, daily timesheets
- Other duties as directed
