EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading teams in an operational workshop environment
  • Trade qualified with practical mechanical engineering skills
  • In-depth knowledge of marine systems, engines, and equipment, with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair.
  • Be self-motivated and have a high standard of workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage at all levels and build sustainable relationships with our diverse teams; your felt leadership skills will naturally bring others along the journey
  • Highly organised and able to deal with conflicting priorities and work under pressure
  • Champion of health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace
  • Good computer literacy and experience working systems, including Microsoft Office 365
  • Physical stamina and agility to work in a marine environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced skilled hands-on Workshop Manager to join our team and drive excellence in our workshop operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in our business, and this position suits a highly organised individual with the ability to work collaboratively and lead the workshop team. You will need to lead by example, have a safety-first approach, be agile, versatile, accurate, and efficient. Your responsibilities include engaging with customers, upholding our workshop service standards, and ensuring jobs are managed in the most cost-effective manner and are completed within company financial objectives and budgets.
This is a fast-paced environment with a variety of projects to work on.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise day to day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks
  • Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize workshop productivity and meet project deadlines.
  • Foster a supportive and safety-conscious work environment for the team.
  • Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex technical issues and challenges faced by the workshop team.
  • Build strong customer relationships with our key clients.
  • Interact with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery.
  • Communicate project plans ahead of time, to align to vessel schedules and ensure all customer interactions and decisions are communicated throughout the organisation.
  • Document all activities accurately and manage paperwork processing
