Description:
Overview
KAON Automation is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our workshop team of Mechanical, Electrical and Debug Technicians. Our workshop is a busy changing environment, producing highly technical complex machinery to a high quality within tight deadlines.
A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and sound judgement to make important decisions on resourcing and prioritisation of activities. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Workshop Manager also liaises with project engineers, the design and quality teams as well as leading and working on various management initiatives.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
People management experience
Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Engineering background with relevant technical qualification
Responsibilities:
Management of a diverse team to ensure maximum efficiency achieved
Ongoing performance reviews to maximise individual potential
Effective coaching of team members
Planning training needs of team members
Provide technical assistance and direction to their team
Plan resourcing requirements, balancing priorities with constraints
Champion a quality approach to all output (Right First-Time approach)
Champions site wide Health and Safety
Implement Good Manufacturing Practice
Overall management of department budget
Identify and implementation of process and cost improvement opportunities
Liaising with customer representatives when on site during ongoing progress reviews and testing
Actively contribute to various companywide improvement initiatives
People management experience
Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
Engineering background with relevant technical qualification
