Description:
IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:
You will have strong fleet workshop and management experience with the ability to formulate and develop a strong team environment alongside:
- Automotive Engineering qualification - Level 3 Motor Vehicle Mechanics
- Certificate in Professional Competence in Road Transport (National)
- Experience in using databases to enter and retrieve data
- Previous management experience
- Certificate in Professional Competence in Road Transport (National)
- Knowledge of light goods vehicles and plant operations
- Experience of using Fleet Management IT systems (e.g. R2C)
- HGV licence - Cat C
Responsibilities:
As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for availability of the depot’s fleet, this includes; front line support to vehicles in operational use, out of hour’s organisation and meeting the overall operational and legal requirements of our fleet along with business targets.
Ensure safe, punctual, reliable and cost-effective delivery of services carried out by maintenance and repair staff on the fleet of high-profile front-line vehicles and plant. Some other duties will include;
- To provide day to day management of all workshop functions and activities across sites, in an effective, flexible, customer focused manner and comply fully with relevant SLA and contract requirements.
- Ensure strict adherence to scheduled maintenance programmes, for all fleet and plant items maintained.
- Ensure that all scheduled and reactive maintenance work is carried out to the required road worthiness standards as set by DVSA and relevant constructions and use regulations
- Responsible for quality control of works undertaken by fleet maintenance operatives.
- Ensure that all associated inspection and repair compliance records are completed to the required standards and made available to the Transport Manager and external customers in a timely manner.
- Ensure that high levels of productivity are achieved leading to effective use of resources to minimise vehicle downtime and achievement of programmed work schedules. To monitor and control staff performance addressing disciplinary and sickness issues in line with corporate guidelines.
