An experienced Workshop Manager with a specialisation in electric vehicles (EVs) to oversee the operations of our service workshop. This position requires a proactive leader who ensures the workshop’s alignment with industry standards, optimises technician performance, and maintains rigorous training and safety protocols specifically for EV maintenance and repair.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or higher in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field, with a specialisation in electric vehicles.
- At least four years of experience in workshop management, preferably within the automotive industry, with significant exposure to electric vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team and manage a high-performance workshop focused on electric vehicles.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with Diagnostic Management Systems (DMS) tailored to electric vehicles.Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and make informed decisions in a high-stakes environment.
Responsibilities:
- EV Workshop Standards Compliance: Ensure the workshop meets all industry standards related to electric vehicle equipment, manpower, and safety.
- Technician Management: Oversee the efficiency and utilisation of technicians, ensuring optimal productivity and performance, particularly in EV servicing.
- EV Training and Development: Coordinate ongoing training programs to maintain and enhance the technical competencies of the team, focusing on the latest electric vehicle technologies and best practices.
- Job Card Management: Manage the distribution and processing of job cards efficiently throughout the workshop, with a specific focus on EVs.
- Administrative Oversight: Ensure all workshop-related administration is executed to high standards, including accurate job card write-ups and timely job completion updates in the DMS.
- Invoicing and Documentation: Supervise the documentation of all work hours and pass completed jobs to the service costing, warranty, and administration teams for accurate invoicing, with a focus on EV-specific operations.
- EV Workshop Loading System: Operate and manage the workshop loading system, assigning jobs to technicians based on expertise and workload with a preference for EV specialists.
- Performance Reporting: Provide monthly reports on workshop loading and technician utilisation to management, with details on EV-specific metrics.
- Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to ensure a cohesive team dynamic, emphasising the importance of EV technology and maintenance.
