Description:

LIN SCAN is looking for an experienced Workshop Representative who will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of mechanical and electronics spare parts to support our operations. This will involve developing and implementing effective parts management strategies, sourcing and procuring parts from suppliers, managing inventory, and leading a team of parts coordinators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electronics parts management, excellent management and leadership skills, and the ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

  • Develop and implement effective parts management strategies to ensure timely and efficient supply of mechanical and electronics spare parts. Analyze parts usage patterns and forecast future demand to optimize inventory levels. Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Source and procure mechanical and electronics parts from suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and negotiate favorable terms. Evaluate and select new suppliers as needed.
  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing obsolete or excess inventory. Implement inventory management best practices, such as just-in-time (JIT) inventory management and lean inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and negotiate favorable terms. Evaluate and select new suppliers as needed. Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Lead and manage a team of parts coordinators, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective parts management. Develop and implement performance metrics and benchmarks to measure team performance.
  • Develop and manage budgets for parts procurement, ensuring cost-effective solutions and minimizing waste. Analyze and report on budget variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize parts management processes. Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and report the spares inventory:

    • Avoid shortages.
  • Arrange for proper storage and labelling.
  • Control the usage of spares for every run.
  • Report planned usage monthly.
  • Aim at 100% Spares availability.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Head office and Tool Management to arrange proper shipping of all spares to and from commercial project sites, between Territory and Corporate TM as well as from suppliers.
  • Forecast, budget and purchase (or return spares to Inventory) from the market for the coming year. This forecast shall also reflect the parts which can be produced in house with LIN SCAN production.
    Skills/Experience:


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or any related fields.

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical production-related role, ideally in the Oil & Gas Industry.
    • Strong command of English, knowledge of other languages is plus
    • Must be flexible with work hours & timings
    • Very good in Technical write up.
    • Preferably with electronics or mechanical Engineering background.
    • Excellent management and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
    • ERP, Microsoft office, is a basic requirement for software, having experience in AutoCAD software is an advantage.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
    • Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
    • Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
    • Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
    • Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off-site locations when necessary.
