National Express are recruiting an Workshop Supervisor, to join the team at our Fareham depot. The successful candidate will ensure that all engineering and vehicle maintenance is carried out both inside and outside of the workshop to a high level, in an efficient and effective manner. In addition, supporting management achieve health, safety, company, and regulatory compliance requirements, whilst providing support, direction, supervision, and coaching to all staff.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Engineering Manager and Workshop Controller to deliver a safe and high-quality engineering service, both internally and externally
- Open the workshop and ensure the security of the workshop at close of the working day
- Allocate all relevant work programmes; preventative maintenance, MOT, modifications, and refurbishment, efficiently and effectively to meet relevant performance and budgetary targets. Ensure work allocated is in a fair and consistent manner
- Manage and update vehicle planned maintenance and defects / breakdowns during your shift, ensuring liaison with supervisor colleagues and Wksp Controller, for accurate communications
- Ensure all inspections, servicing and repairs are completed in strict accordance with Company procedures and DVSA requirements
- Utilising the Vehicle Maintenance System (VMS) to maximum effect, ensure all reported defects for vehicles are resolved efficiently and effectively, with minimal effect to the service network, and vehicle safety
- Ensure that all activities are correctly logged within the VMS, and other recording sheets, accurately and in a timely manner. Other documentation to be strictly controlled for example would be the wheel removal torque sheet
- Review and authorise vehicle repair/maintenance documentation as required prior to releasing vehicles for operational service
- Liaise with third party contractors in respect of vehicle issues – for example, CCTV, Tyre fitters, Glass repairs etc.
- Ensure the effective supply of parts and that requested parts are processed by liaising with the parts supervisor
- Be the interaction within the operations front desk and engineering department for all related matters by taking the phone calls and being able to respond to the situations
- Liaise closely with Operations colleagues, communicating any delays or requirements with the relevant parties.
- Assist with organising roadside breakdown assistance
- Maintain the Engineering diary for passage of information
