Description:

    As Team Leader, you are responsible for the effective management of the day-to-day operations and output produced by the team in the Mackay workshop. This includes assisting with the supervision of employees and scheduling and planning the relevant operations of the workshop.

Job Responsibilities –

  • Maintain a commitment to Quality by following FLSmidth Quality Policies and Procedures
  • Supervise and conduct workshop activities, including leading, guiding and mentoring the team, with a focus on ‘Safety First’.
  • Support, reinforce and uphold supervisor and management decisions and policies across the workshop.
  • Ensure accurate completion of daily timesheets including confirmation of job numbers.
  • Manage maintenance plans, and action all tooling requirements of the team as required.
  • Effectively manage people resources to meet production requirements across various product groups.
  • Increase efficiency of the workshop by maintaining a focus on Quality and continuous improvement.
  • Regular review for overtime by product group and obtain authorisation.
  • Check the quality of completed jobs and sign off against the job pack.
  • Plan and schedule parts and materials for future jobs.
  • Promote a ‘Safety First’ culture and safe working environment and practices.
  • Understand business needs by exhibiting an understanding of key drivers and performance measures (eg job schedule) relating to the workshop.
  • Provide solutions to any issues that may arise in the work area.

What you bring –

  • Qualified Mechanical Fitter with Trade Certificate issued by an accredited institution.
  • Must have demonstrated experience and high-level technical skills relevant to the role.
  • Experience in the manufacture / repair of mineral processing equipment.
  • Experience in manufacturing mining analytical equipment advantageous.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership skills.
  • Ability to be read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Able to adapt to a constantly changing environment while promoting a quality and safety culture.
  • Desirable to possess valid certifications; Dogging, Rigging, Forklift.
  • Team player, able to interface positively with all team members
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with customers, contractors and other personnel daily.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite and ERP systems.
