The Automotive Aftermarket technical training department for Robert Bosch Ltd is located at the class-leading Bosch Training facility in Denham. The role is ideal for any individual with experience in training coordination with customer focus.
Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and personally assisting with maintenance of the workshops, preparation of equipment and materials required, with due regard to both efficiency and safety including the writing and reviewing risk assessments.
  • Supervise and mentor a workshop apprentice through their level 2 qualification.
  • Maintain the Doncaster training fleet making recommendations for vehicle rotation / destruction and ensuring all vehicles are well maintained.
  • Support the teaching of Motor Vehicle and Engineering by acting as a 2nd trainer as required and ensuring students work in a safe manner in project and workshop areas.
  • Support when required the development of workshop training aids for use within the technical programmes.
  • Liaise with the Brand, Quality and Curriculum Managers so as to ensure the smooth running of the Motor Vehicle workshops and stores, reporting immediately any problems relating to staff or equipment, which the post holder is not in a position to resolve.
  • Ensure equipment used in the area is efficiently maintained and minimise any delays due to breakdown. Produce estimates of parts and repairs necessary to refurbish equipment and where possible, to carry out repairs within the workshops.
  • Ensure that supplies of parts and consumable materials are efficiently and safely stored and controlled within budget and that adequate stocks are kept at all times, including flammable and dangerous materials.
  • Support as required the End Point Assessment (EPA) process with technician duties and any support required throughout the process.
  • Ensure that working areas are kept clean and tidy and that all necessary safety procedures are followed.
  • Identify as soon as possible any problems relating to staff, equipment or materials and either resolve them personally or refer them to the Curriculum Manager / Brand Manager as appropriate.
  • Carry out regular stock checks of equipment, materials and consumables and advise of any replacements required and to assist with the annual inventory of materials, consumables and equipment and assist in the loading or off loading or equipment.
  • Assist with general maintenance within the workshop areas and the training facility as required.
  • To be included in the staff first aid list, and to offer first aid assistance when called upon to do so.

Qualifications

The job holder will:

  • Hold a level 3 automotive qualification, preferably with light vehicle
  • A First Aid qualification or willing to work towards
  • A Level 2 qualification (GCSE or Equivalent) in English & Maths or willing to work towards within 2 years
  • Formal health & safety training or willing to work towards within 12 months
  • Actively engage in improving our business processes by contributing ideas and suggestions
  • Communicate proactively and effectively at all levels, both externally and internally
