Description:
Weatherford have a great opportunity for an experienced Workshop Technician to join the team in Stavanger. The Workshop Technician’s role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilizes Weatherford’s facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions. While this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the Workshop Technician position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant. Primary role will be to assemble, disassemble rental equipment (under supervision). You will also assist Tech. I & III as and when required in the preparation and testing of equipment. You will be expected to follow a specified learning plan that will include various computer-based learning modules as well as classroom training. During this phase, you may take on miscellaneous tasks as assigned to you by your Workshop Coordinator.

- Attend classroom instructional sessions aimed at product line specific training.
- Complete assigned computer-based training as per the predetermined Learning Plan.
- Assemble, disassemble rental equipment per work instructions.
- Assemble equipment (under minimal supervision).
- Perform tool preparation and testing.
- Measure and calibrate tools.
- Have a general knowledge of the PL products and services including having the ability to correctly identify all tools and components.
- Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality to increase efficiency.
- Assist in the shop and make deliveries when available.
- Must attend all required safety training.
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- The business is dynamic, and you will be subject to transfer into any parts of the Weatherford Norway base and workshop operations across the different product line and functions. Including but not limited to, TRS, Completions, Shared Services, yard operations, or any other functions within this domain as and when required.
- Responsible for being familiar with the Company’s Quality policies and taking an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System.
- Maintains service quality as an immediate priority when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all policies & procedures, related operational and non-operational documentation, support systems, complies with all Technical Work Instructions, carrying out work assignments to the highest quality level and within time constraints as required.
- Senior roles will participate in Annual Technical Audits as required to ensure systems are effectively implemented; a supporting authority will lead such Audits.
- Participates in all daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and reports any issues promptly using the appropriate tools.
Requirements:
- Certificate of apprenticeship.
- Minimum of 2 year experience in Tech I position or minimum of 3 year experience in a general Technician position.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Individual must be able to follow instructions.
- Self-motivated and committed to service quality a must.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
- Problem solving.
- The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Valid overhead crane certification.
- Good verbal and written English skills are preferred.
