Description:
The post holder will lead the planning, organisation and implementation of complex strategies and programmes of work, interpreting national guidelines and applying these to own area of work. The post holder will ensure robust programme / project management methodology is applied to the development and implementation of all projects. They will critically evaluate the quality of all programme plans, and strength of organisational capability and capacity to achieve the planned outcomes. The post holder will provide leadership, challenge and support to Trusts.
They will make decisions relating to the management of the programme where there is a failure to meet key milestones/targeted levels of improvement. The post holder will manage risks within the programme and project environment, escalating upwards, within the PMO as appropriate. They will advise the LMNS Addressing Health Inequalities Steering Group and the LMNS Board of any strategic issues in respect of work stream interdependencies. They will ensure the LMNS Addressing Health Inequalities Steering Group receive robust, timely programme management information to inform decision-making.
The post holder will provide expert advice, leadership and support to those involved with the programmes of work to enable a whole systems approach. They will facilitate appropriate links with other teams to encourage knowledge sharing and learning. The post holder will work autonomously with significant discretion to work to broad occupational policy. The post holder will take responsibility for the instigation of service or policy development and practical implementation across a substantial area in line with organisational vision and objectives.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of specialist training to maternity care professionals and service users in subjects pertinent to health inequalities. The post holder will take responsibility for the operation and development of one or more information systems in relation to health inequalities which have importance or impact on the wider LMNS. Ensure the principles of openness, transparency and candour are observed and upheld in all working practices. Ensure compliance with all mandatory and statutory training relevant to the post.
Be familiar with and adhere to the safeguarding policies, procedures, and guidelines for both children and adults at risk of abuse or neglect. This must be in conjunction with the Multi-agency Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults at risk of abuse or neglect Multi- Agency Policy, Protocols and guidelines. Ensure that any infection prevention and control issues are reported appropriately. Be aware of and adhere to the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act and to ensure their own safety and the safety of others.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the principles of data security and data protection. Follow a professional Code of Conduct, where relevant to the post. Participate in the organisational appraisal process. Be expected to undertake ongoing professional and personal development in line with the responsibilities of the post
