As a Yield analysis PFA Lead Engineer you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems.
This position is responsible for overseeing failure analysis activities related to the technical support and sustaining engineering functions in a product manufacturing area. Responsibilities include planning and directing implementation of equipment, process, or product modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques, and production yields for existing products. Additionally, this position acts as an engineering liaison with internal customers to ensure processes meet the needs of identified customers. Other responsibilities include providing input to select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Ensures the PFA shift engineers are equipped to handle tactical activities in the lab (priority setting, customer service, etc), supports the shift engineers in employee development activities. Personal efforts are focused on failure analysis and strategic lab improvement activities.

Responsibilities:

Effectively Manage Daily Failure Analysis

  • Effectively manage daily business to meet production, process, and quality requirements
  • Looks for gaps in current methods/procedures/organizational layout and finds solutions to bridge gaps and continuously evolve the teams skills and effectiveness
  • Work with 1st shift and shift engineers to ensure team members have adequate resources to fulfill shift and area needs
  • Works with 1st shift and shift engineers to identify and Deploy Best Known Methods, keeping shifts aligned while progressing the labs failure analysis efforts efficiency and accuracy

Performance Management

  • Maintain an effective training program; provide active leadership to drive group to higher levels of proficiency
  • Uphold the group standards with respect to critical metrics by holding group and individuals accountable for decisions and performance
  • Mentor engineers in how to effectively delegate tasks to achieve the desired results
  • Ensures eventual reports are receiving adequate development, coaching and growth opportunities

Support Company and Department Objectives

  • Define BP’s and KPI’s for your organization and monitors them periodically to support organization goals and needs
  • Ensure project management methods and principles are applied to all individual and team projects needed to support Line of Sight commitments and departmental improvement activities
