Responsibilities:

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of low mood and anxiety in young people using an early intervention model.
Action for Children are proud to be able to deliver the Blues programme in Secondary schools, and its sister programme Bouncing Back in primary and secondary schools, predominantly in the South Lanarkshire area.
We’re looking for a motivated Young Person’s Worker who is committed to supporting young people’s mental health and evaluates and share the results to assess the impact on the students’ confidence, self-esteem, and involvement in learning. You’ll take a comprehensive approach that not only educates but also encourages young people to talk about their feelings and learn practical skills to deal with emotional challenges.
This post is available as a fixed term contract initially for 10 months, however, could be extended subject to further funding. This is a great opportunity as you will have the chance to represent Action for Children at a range of employer forums and stakeholder events.

Some key responsibilities for the Young Persons Worker role are;

  • Delivering or supporting appropriate interventions to children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting, with appropriate direction and participation.
  • Attending and actively participate in relevant multi-agency meetings.
  • Providing individually or as part of a team, high quality practical care, activities and experiences to children, young people and families, as advised and in line with agreed plans.
  • Providing or assisting with targeted interventions for individuals or groups, following directions and ensuring active participation.
  • Supporting the Blues team with admin tasks/processes and ensuring it is accurate and up to dat
