This role entails but not limited to

Youth Connector

• “Connect” young people with specialist counselling and support services for sexual assault and abuse.
• Establish and maintain pathways for young people needing sexual assault/abuse services.
• Facilitate early intervention youth counselling for sexually reactive behaviours.

Counsellor

• Work with your line manager to identify client needs and deliver appropriate services within available resources, continually assessing and responding to changing needs and dynamics.
• Conduct assessments to inform therapeutic goals, intervention plans, casework, and client support.
• Offer short and long-term individual and family counselling in response to referrals, using various therapeutic interventions to address identified issues.

Mercy Community Services is on the search for a driven and passionate individual to work a dual role (Youth Connector/Counsellor) on a Permanent Full-time basis based in Toowoomba. Within this role, the successful candidate would work 3 days as a Youth Connector and 2 days as a Counsellor.
The Youth Connector provides essential links for young people and children exhibiting sexually reactive behaviour to access counselling and therapeutic services. This position delivers counselling and therapeutic services to children and young people, encompassing assessments, pre- and post-evaluations, and interventions.
