The PEEER Youth Service has grown in recent years and we are looking to recruit an experienced Youth Worker to support our Renal team at Southampton Childrens Hospital, working in partnership with paediatric teams at other sites supported by UHS, and adults sites our young adults transfer too. Young people living with kidney conditions face complex challenges and often treatment changes that are difficult to navigate. The Youth worker is a unique role within the team, there to work with the young person, at their pace, with their goals.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain or build experience of working in a Health-based role as a youth worker and contribute to the national growth of our sector. There will also be opportunity to be involved in the national ‘moving on up to adults’ programme, developing resources and initiatives to support young people moving from paediatrics to adult care.

• A confident Youth worker with a Level 3 qualification in Youth Work or equivalent experience and willingness to undertake additional studies.
• A empathetic and skilled listener, able to advocate for young people effectively
• Able to work independently and also as part of a growing Youth Service team
• Able to work within and alongside complex multi-disciplinary teams
• A holder of a Driving License and access to personal transport is essential in this role
