Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse within Redbridge Child and Adolescent Mental Health team based within Redbridge Service (YJS). Covering Maternity leave.
The Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency, multi-professional team with statutory responsibilities for young people who are at risk of, or have offended. The Service is part of a broader Integrated Adolescent Service delivering assessments and interventions to children, young people and their families across the borough. The service aims to prevent children from becoming involved in crime, and for those who have already offended, reducing offending behaviours by working in partnership with Police, Probation, Youth Courts, Education, Health and Childrens’ Service colleagues.
We are seeking an able, enthusiastic and experienced registered nurse to provide highly specialist health and mental health screening, assessment and intervention for young people with a range of vulnerabilities within the Youth Justice Service (YJS).
This role is suitable for nurses with experience of working with children and young people with physical and mental health needs.

The role requires you to function autonomously, whilst being a support and resource to less experienced members of staff from the partner agencies within the YJS. You must have the following:

  • A comprehensive understanding of mental health conditions and emotional wellbeing and their management and treatment.
  • Be able to manage a caseload of young people, ensuring safe and effective clinical practices.
  • Be able to assess young people’s needs form a holistic prospective, taking in to consideration both physical and emotional health needs and any potential risks and formulating an appropriate care plan in collaboration with the young person.
  • Be able to provide time orientated intervention to support young people to manage their health needs.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436) pro rata for part time staff.
Certificates of Sponsorship
Although we are a registered sponsor organisation, we are unable to offer sponsorship for all job roles. Please check your eligibility under the UKVI points based system
Use of AI
Applications for this role should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programmes are used then the application may be rejected due to this document being an important part of the assessment process. This does not prevent applicants seeking appropriate support with applications should they need to for the purposes of any declared disability.
