Typical successful backgrounds for this position include:
Community outreach and engagement coordinator
Community service provider
Community organizer or coordinator

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Three or more years of work experience doing outreach and engagement to vulnerable populations and/or youth OR a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, political science, criminal justice, government, economics, or related field.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in racial equity work, particularly in outreach, engagement, and reaching underserved and historically excluded communities.
  • Experience in outreach, or providing direct service to, youth.
  • Effective and skilled manager and coach - actively partnering with staff to provide instruction, feedback, and encouragement to maximize success on the job.
  • Project planning.
  • Data analysis or review.
  • Drafting and developing reports (i.e., annual reports).
