Full-time, Permanent, 37.5 hours per week
Wage Rate: $29.90 – $33.22 per hour

Sunbeam Community & Developmental Services is a non-profit, multi-site, multi-faceted organization that is committed to serving individuals living with complex developmental, intellectual, behavioural, and/or physical disabilities.
Sunbeam Developmental Resource Centre – Waterloo Region (SDRC) is the single point of access to developmental services for children in the Region of Waterloo. SDRC provides service coordination and clinical services to children, youth and adults with Intellectual Disabilities and/or an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), living in Waterloo Region.
We are presently inviting applications for the position of:
Position overview:
The successful candidate will support individuals living in the community. The Coordinator will assist people in accessing services and supports so that each client may attain the maximum degree of independence possible in each area of life. These outcomes are achieved through a voluntary relationship with the client, their support network, collaborative identification of the client’s abilities and needs, and the provision of support tailored to each client’s unique situation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent (eligibility for registration as a Social Worker or Social
- Service Worker an asset).
- Experience in working with youth/adults with an Intellectual Disability/ASD.
- Experience with complex needs including Dual Diagnosis, medical, housing, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum
- Disorder (FASD), etc. is an asset.
- Familiarity with the services and supports available to people with Intellectual Disabilities/ASD in
- Waterloo Region.
- Experience working with both the juvenile and adult correctional services.
- Experience in mediation and working collaboratively with various supports/agencies throughout the
- Region.
- Familiarity with and understanding of the role of Developmental Services Ontario (DSO).
- Excellent consulting and oral/written communication skills.
- Knowledge regarding Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) and appropriate MCCSS regulations.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for travel throughout the Region and possibly outside
