Description:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Youth/Middle School Volleyball Coach will lead a group of students teaching them the skills and rules of volleyball. The Coach is responsible for ensuring the safety of the students enrolled, must be knowledgeable about all aspects of coaching multiple age groups. This part-time role requires evening and weekend availability.
Essential Functions:
- Lead challenging and educational practice sessions.
- Instruct group in accordance with YMCA guidelines and rules of the game.
- Uphold, model, teach and put the four (4) core values of the YMCA into action in all activities – everyday: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
- Maintain good relationships with students, parents and sports officials.
- Maintain professional appearance and report on time to all scheduled practices and games.
- Strive to develop the qualities of leadership, initiative and good judgement in all athletes.
- Develop habits that promote good health and sound training rules.
- Create a positive and nurturing learning environment to instill and encourage youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
