Description:
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE WILL INCLUDE:
- Working as a proactive member of the Goodwin Development Trust Youth Project team contributing to a timetable of activities, events, contract delivery, including open access sessions at The Turf Youth club, outreach sessions, detached youth work and trips.
- Ensuring that children and young people are safeguarded.
- Contributing to, reading and understanding risk assessments, policies and procedures to maintain the safety of the children young people, volunteers, staff and visitors.
- Working with projects across Goodwin and external partners including Hull City Council and local schools to support the delivery of a flexible youth offer that promotes opportunities for children and young people to access a range of experiences including arts, crafts, music and sport.
- Consult regularly with young people and their families to develop and deliver services that meet their needs and continue to develop and deliver services that meet their needs, wishes and wants.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Undertake a range of internal and external training to further develop professional skills.
- Have knowledge and experience of working with young people in a youth work setting.
- Have experience of safeguarding policies and procedures and safe working practices including working to risk assessments and policies and procedures.
- Have excellent communication skills with children, young people and team staff and volunteers.
- Have a calm and supportive way of working and communicating that avoids conflict.
- Have knowledge of equality and diversity and a commitment to promoting inclusive service delivery.
