Zero Energy Deuterium 2 (ZED-2) Technologist

Our Licensed Nuclear Facilities Department is looking for a Zero Energy Deuterium 2 (ZED-2) Technologist!

• Perform and assist with design, installation, and testing of experimental equipment;
• Safe and compliant operation of the ZED-2 Reactor;
• Ensure that the equipment within the facility is operating in a safe and efficient manner according to regulations and procedures;
• Perform operational activities in accordance with procedures, work plans, and manuals;
• Model expected operations behaviours;
• Assist in developing work plans and procedures;
• Supervise Maintenance personnel;
• Solve technical problems involved with equipment and procedures;
• Perform independent inspections and tests;
• Record observations and data;
• Ability to perform a variety of duties and tasks without loss of efficiency or composure;
• Ability to wear a respirator in emergency situations is required;
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and to respond to challenging schedule demands;
• Demonstrated team leadership skills, including the ability to develop a collaborative team oriented to work in accordance with prescribed procedures;
• Demonstrated ability in technical problem solving;
• Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual or hazardous conditions;
• Participate in facility compliance activities, such as CNSC or IAEA inspections, or other internal requirements; and
• Other duties as assigned by the ZED-2 Facility Supervisor.
