JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a fuel systems engineer to join our Hydrogen Team, in Filton.

The role …

  • Support the Airbus fuel team within Fluid Mechanic Systems perimeter working with other Fuel system Engineers and signatories along with interfaces, including Fuel systems, Certification specialists, Procurement and Vendors;
  • Support and Lead Project Management activities, including deliverables reviews from Supplier;
  • Assess new functionality to systems within Valves Team, new and modified requirements to the system, and cascade them to suppliers;
  • Support phase reviews and Validation and Verification activities, ensuring activity meets Safety and technical needs, looking into actuated valves and redundancy, monitoring for failures and leakage, following the appropriate processes and procedures, demonstrating strong requirement adherence and V&V.
  • Managing and coordinating the ATA28 system input to Design Reviews including Process Assurance.
  • Authoring technical reports, including design drivers, architectures, and test results;
  • Support the development of the Certification standards, as well as the new fuel system architectures and equipment for a future Hydrogen powered aircraft.
  • Leading and managing liquid hydrogen fuel system trade studies.

In Addition …

  • As part of a consultancy, as required support work outside of the Controls & Indication Hydrogen perimeter detailed above such as bid work and support to Airbus Protect’s wider work portfolio in the Safety and Sustainability domain.

Are you the one ?

Experience required:

  • You hold an engineering degree or equivalent in systems;
  • Experienced Engineer with 5 years of experience with minimum, including fluids systems & equipment design;
  • Experience of Project Management is required;
  • Experience in aircraft fuel systems design activities within Fluid Mechanic perimeter;
  • Experience in systems based engineering including requirements management and Validation & Verification all the way through to certification;
  • Track record of leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and staff members;
  • Experience in liquid hydrogen is desirable;
  • Experience of requirement management, including use of DOORS is desirable;

We need someone who has/is:

  • Strong ability lead and manage a project team (i.e Work Package management);
  • Someone suitable to manage dynamic early development phase environments. Capable of driving projects forward with minimal information, following and generating new processes;
  • Team player, keen to share their knowledge and work collaboratively within a fairly small team;
  • Customer centric and able to build relationships in a matrix environment;
  • You have very good communication and negotiation skills;
  • You are autonomous, curious, proactive, rigorous, with great attention to detail;
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
