Description:
Main Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated Zinc/Lead Trader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commodity trading. This role involves generating trade ideas, executing trades, and managing client relationships. The successful candidate will leverage their analytical skills and market knowledge to drive profitability and enhance our trading operations.

- Prior experience on an institutional trading / sales desk covering clients trading within commodity markets.
- Experience in commodity markets (EU / US / China) across sectors, typical trade flows and arbitrage opportunities
- Experience with options derivatives products and hedging strategies
- Coding experience across VBA, MATLAB, Python for modelling trade risk, drawdowns, profitability
Key Responsibilities
Trade Idea Generation: Utilize quantitative and fundamental analysis to develop and support trade theses within the zinc and lead markets. Model trade ideas using computational analysis, and pitch those ideas to internal stakeholders.
Market Analysis: Conduct rigorous computational analysis to quantify risk, drawdowns, and profitability of potential trades using Python and Excel.
Trading Execution: Execute trades in the zinc and lead markets, focusing on delta-one and options derivatives products.
Client and Stakeholder Management: Maintain and manage relationships with market participants and clients promoting long-term partnerships and generating PnL.
Trade Distribution: Pitch and distribute trade ideas to internal stakeholders, with a focus on the metals space.
Options Pricing and Hedging: Apply detailed understanding of options pricing and hedging across various markets.
System Automation: Program and implement proprietary algorithms to monitor trade activity data, identify trends, and automate existing trade systems to increase efficiency and minimize operational risk.
Operational Oversight: Oversee database for trading books, rates, and client lists
Competencies
Education: BEng in Chemical Engineering or a related field with First Class Honours (1:1) from a reputable university.
Experience: Prior experience in commodity sales / trading.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, Excel, and VBA for computational analysis and system automation.
Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of commodity markets, as well as broader markets too.
Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and fundamental analysis skills, with the ability to generate and support trade ideas.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to pitch trade ideas and manage client relationships effectively.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, particularly in trade execution and PnL reconciliation.
Language Skills: English (required), Spanish (preferable), Portuguese (preferable)
