Description:
DESCRIPTION
Responsible for providing exceptional customer service while processing admissions and sales transactions for visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in customer service or cash handling roles is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
- Must be able to obtain food handler’s certificate as required by Health Department.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, to accommodate zoo operating hours and special events.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License at time of placement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor, with the ability to interact courteously with visitors of all ages.
- Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain, including bending, stooping, and lifting objects up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors warmly as they arrive at the zoo entrance and provide information about admission prices, memberships, and special events.
- Assist guests with inquiries, directions, and any other information they may require during their visit.
- Collect admission fees from visitors, process payments accurately using cash registers or point-of-sale systems, and issue tickets or receipts.
- Verify and validate memberships, group discounts, and promotional offers according to zoo policies and procedures.
- Sell zoo merchandise, including souvenirs, gifts, and concessions, and process sales transactions with efficiency and accuracy.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods securely, following established protocols.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer throughout the shift, reconcile cash transactions at the end of each day, and prepare deposits for submission to the finance department.
- Manage lines and queues effectively to ensure a smooth flow of visitors at the entrance and other points of sale.
- Assist with crowd control during peak hours and special events to maintain order and safety.
- Other duties as assigned
