About the role Based in BYD’s Melbourne office in Mulgrave and reporting to the IT Manager, this role is responsible for capturing Aftersales business requirements to support the delivery of effective system solutions aligned with business needs. A core responsibility of this role is to act as a strong liaison between BYD internal teams, BYD dealers, local system vendors, and HQ system solution teams, ensuring accurate requirement elicitation, documentation, and communication. This role is offered as an IT Business Analyst – Aftersales Systems, with day-to-day responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following: 1. IT subject matter expert for Aftersales Develop and maintain expert knowledge of Aftersales business processes and systems. Document business processes, system functions, system integrations and data modelling for key systems (such as DMS), ensuring structure, and support for operational excellence. Lead and facilitate workshops with the business to understand key business strategies and processes during detailed business requirements capture. Translates business needs into precise functional and nonfunctional requirements. Creates and maintains detailed business requirements specifications. Ensure local security and privacy guidelines are followed and system risks are identified and mitigated. 2. Aftersales system support & maintenance Provide technical support to internal users for system related issues, and create operational documents, troubleshooting guides, and other materials to support effective knowledge sharing. Diagnose and resolve system issues based on criticality, ensuring business continuity and participate in disaster recovery drills. Support configuration and deployment of key Aftersales systems, including mobile applications. Manage user access by assigning roles, permissions and accounts based on business needs and security policies to ensure appropriate access and preventing data breaches. Collect, analyse, and manage system logs (where applicable) to identify potential risks and abnormal behaviour, ensuring the security and compliance. Liaise regularly with all relevant project and business stakeholders. 3. Project and change Implementation Support rollout, migration and upgrades of key Aftersales systems, as well as system and technology integrations. Facilitates workshops and walkthroughs for the projects, ensuring all parties share a common understanding of scope and priorities. Ensures requirements are unambiguous, complete, and testable. Define acceptance criteria that QA can directly convert into test cases. Prepares UAT scripts, supports business users during UAT. Helps triage UAT defects and determine business impact. Implement required changes of HQ systems to align with local market regulatory requirements and other interfacing systems. 4. Cross-functional collaboration Act as a bridge between the BYD business, BYD dealers, HQ system solution teams, and local system vendors through accurate induction, documentation and communication of business requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for the key Aftersales systems between business users and development teams. 5. Training Define training audiences for dealers and internal BYD users (e.g., frontline staff, managers, administrators). Determines training scope: what must be taught, what’s optional, and what’s out of scope. Draft user guides, quick reference materials, and process maps. Conduct the training sessions, including stepbystep walkthroughs of system functions Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience in automotive, retail, or enterprise system environments may be considered.
