Comprised of research nurses, investigators, clinicians, data managers, and administrative staff, the team ensures the safe coordination and conduct of clinical trials across health services. They are committed to maintaining rigorous regulatory standards, fostering innovation in healthcare, and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice. With a strong emphasis on communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement, the team provides a supportive environment that enables efficient trial delivery while prioritising participant wellbeing and research excellence. THE ROLE * Manages and coordinates Unit projects that contribute to the strategic objectives of the THS utilising a highly developed understanding of clinical trials research. * Responsible for undertaking robust research activities that contribute to Unit policy or projects. * Establishes and maintains consultative links internally within the Agency and with community and industry representatives, and engages with clinical trial coordinators locally, nationally and internationally including within other specialties, to facilitate collaborative research efforts for the achievement of strategic objectives. * Undertakes the management and support of committees (or other groups) associated with the functions of the Research arm of the Unit. YOU WILL NEED * Coordinate robust, high level research with a local, national and international focus to inform the requirements of policy and projects relevant to anaesthesia. Research includes critical analysis; networking; development of recommendations; and reporting. * Utilise creativity and innovation to develop and evaluate policies and projects related to influencing clinical practice and improved perioperative outcomes. * Employ high level knowledge of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) system of Human Research Ethics Committee requirements for the conduct of clinical research within hospitals, the NHMRC Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) Code of Good Clinical Practice (or similar guiding documents as they relate to New Zealand or Hong Kong) in order to effectively coordinate ethics and grant submissions. DETAILS OF APPOINTMENT Permanent part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
