The Sales Lead at Heinen's Grocery Store is responsible for leading all aspects of the deli department to deliver exceptional customer service, high-quality products, and strong financial performance. This role oversees daily operations including food preparation, merchandising, inventory management, food safety compliance, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities * Lead, train, and develop Deli Associates to achieve established sales, margin, and customer service objectives. * Implement and uphold departmental best practices, operational procedures, and company standards. * Prioritize, assign, and oversee daily responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and optimal productivity. * Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, store leadership, and corporate partners. * Support day-to-day department operations, including scanning, inventory control, ordering, stocking, and merchandising. * Develop and manage weekly schedules aligned with labor budgets and business needs. * Contribute to menu planning initiatives and maintain comprehensive product knowledge. * Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and company policies. * Foster a positive, performance-driven team environment through coaching and accountability. * Execute merchandising strategies and monitor performance metrics through departmental scorecards. * Utilize internal communication tools, including department boards and reporting systems, to maintain operational alignment. * Participate in corporate meetings, training sessions, and leadership development programs. * Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall store operations.
