Description

CAREERS: The Next Generation is a unique, non-profit organization raising youth awareness of career options and helping students earn while they learn through internship. We partner with government, educators, communities, industry, parents, and students to introduce youth to rewarding careers and develop the skilled workers of the future.
This is a two-year, full-time contractual position.
In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in supporting project initiatives, building strong relationships with employers and industry partners building strong relationships with employers and industry partners, and working closely with CAREERS’ regional Operations teams. A significant portion of this role will focus on employer acquisition to ensure students have access to impactful work-based learning experiences. You will also assist with tracking, reporting, and the integration of a badge recognition system in collaboration with the Alberta government.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communicator and relationship builder with an ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, especially employers and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated experience or success in employer recruitment, sales, or business development—this is a core part of the role.
  • Detail-oriented with strong skills in project coordination, data tracking, and reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM/database tools; experience with digital credentialing or badge systems is an asset.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and efficient, with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Related experience and/or education in business, project management, education, workforce development, or a similar field.
  • Experience working with students in career development programs, education systems, or community organizations is a strong asset.
  • Satisfactory criminal and child welfare checks are required.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential.
