About the job


  • Accounting Manager (m/f/d)Location: Düsseldorf, GermanyThe OpportunityOur client is an established international organisation operating within a growing and future-focused industry. They are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations and financial statements in Germany.You will build and lead the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with German accounting principles (GoB) and IFRS. The role combines operational accounting, compliance, financial planning and strategic support for senior management.Your ResponsibilitiesOversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
  • Review monthly financial and management reports
  • Manage daily accounting activities, including invoicing, reconciliations and financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and business documentation
  • Coordinate corporate income tax, VAT and other relevant tax matters
  • Ensure compliance with GoB and applicable reporting requirements
  • Act as the primary contact for external auditors and tax advisers
  • Improve accounting processes, internal controls and financial systems
  • Establish and maintain company-wide financial policies and procedures
  • Perform monthly balance-sheet reconciliations and profit-and-loss reviews
  • Develop strategies to identify and minimise financial risk
  • Collaborate with international FP&A, finance and legal teams on transfer pricing, intercompany transactions and reporting
  • Lead the budgeting process in cooperation with other departments
  • Develop long-term business plans based on financial performance
  • Advise senior management on strategic business decisions
  • Build and manage the accounting team
  • Your ProfileEssential requirements:Fluent written and spoken German and English, with a minimum of C1 level
  • At least five years of experience in a comparable accounting or finance role in Germany
  • Experience in financial planning and management reporting
  • Strong technical and practical knowledge of accounting and regulatory reporting
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Desirable requirements:Experience with the percentage-of-completion method
  • A professional accounting qualification or another relevant certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations
  • Experience working within an internationally headquartered organisation
