The Business Development Representative, you will make a meaningful impact by connecting with potential customers, understanding their needs, and scheduling appointments for our Account Executives. This role requires exceptional communication and active listening skills, combined with a drive for success. The Business Development Representative will play a vital role in effectively addressing objections and ensuring customer satisfaction. Who we are: Back Office, a Buyers Edge Platform SaaS solution, dismantles siloed restaurant technology systems, offering Accounting & Bookkeeping, Payroll, Food Cost Management, and AP Automation as a unified tech stack. Developed by restaurant owners for restaurant owners, Back Office goes beyond traditional software; it's backed by industry experts who guide operators to make faster, more informed business decisions surrounding revenue, cost of goods, labor, and compliance. Through a combination of continued education and user-friendly software, independent, multi-location, franchise, and enterprise restaurant groups gain actionable insights into their performance, empowering them to make data-based operational decisions! We value the impact and connection that come from regular in-person collaboration. While the ideal candidate can work from our Littleton, CO office, with anticipated travel up to 5%, we are also accepting applications from remote candidates who are not located within a reasonable commuting distance. Your impact: Conduct cold phone and email outreach to prospective clients Build and maintain a pipeline of potential customers through ongoing lead-generation activities. Engage prospects by gathering key information and demonstrating Back Offices value during discovery calls Handle objections and address concerns raised by potential customers. Assess the suitability of prospects and qualify them as sales opportunities. Spearhead new initiatives, deliver market feedback, and collaborate cross-functionally with sales and marketing Track and report key data points using Salesforce Schedule appointments and meetings with qualified prospects for the sales team. Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance sales skills and product knowledge. Driving toward results by meeting monthly/quarterly/yearly quotas. About you: 2+ years in a sales role, experience selling to foodservice retailers preferred Experience in and an understanding of the foodservice industry within retail Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Knowledge of sales tools and Salesforce CRM systems Excellent communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential for effectively engaging with potential customers, understanding their needs, and articulating the value of products or services. Active listening: The ability to actively listen and comprehend customer inquiries, concerns, and objections is crucial in addressing them effectively and providing appropriate solutions. Sales aptitude: A natural inclination towards sales, with the ability to understand and apply sales techniques, such as identifying customer pain points, building rapport, and closing deals. Self-motivation and drive: We are seeking a highly driven individual who is motivated to succeed. The role often involves making a high volume of calls and facing rejection, so having a resilient and self-motivated attitude is important for maintaining productivity and achieving targets.
