The Role: Project Scheduler
A Project Scheduler in the construction industry is responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for updating project site logistic plans according to the IFC drawings, review it with the site superintendent and traffic management consultants.
  • You will be involved in the planning of projects as a member of the preconstruction team, you will be responsible for reading and understanding the schedule-related contractual requirements, drawings, specifications and preparation of BID schedules.
  • Prepare logistics plans and preconstruction schedules in preconstruction phase.
  • You will be responsible for developing schedules, ensuring that the durations and relationships have been vetted by project management team, site superintendents and subtrades.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and incorporates the production analysis into the schedule.
  • Communicate with project managers to determine the actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates based on provided information.
  • Contribute in the planning and scheduling process through various construction phases (preconstruction, construction, system completions, PDI, occupancy, etc.).
  • Assists project management team to create and monitor short term schedules and determine the impact on the master schedule.
  • Responsible for working with the project team to create the baseline schedule, ensuring that it meets or exceeds Reliance Construction’s best practices in terms of format, layout, content and quality.
  • Responsible for updating the project schedule on a monthly basis for each project assigned to you.
  • You will be in charge of reviewing the comments on schedules from clients and trades
  • Responsible for attending the project meetings on site and client’s offices.
  • Update information will include as-built dates, short-term forecasting, changes/delays information incorporating schedule impact, and potentially some resequencing of work to match the current execution plan.
  • Responsible for reporting on the status of all active projects assigned to you.
  • You will be responsible for attending and participating in internal project review meetings.
  • Responsible for tracking the changes through the construction phase of the project and identifying the impact of the changes to the ongoing and future activities.
  • Responsible for preparation, updating and reporting of projects delay event tracker.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • You will provide support to project teams by developing microwork schedules, what-if scenarios, and Time-Impact-Analysis schedules as required.
  • Proactively identify problems or conflicts in the project schedule and assist the project manager or site superintendent in effectively managing a resolution.

What You’ll Need

  • A recognized university degree in Engineering or Construction Technology or specialized courses in Construction Management or equivalent experience and training.
  • Skilled in written and oral communication.
  • You have minimum 5 years of construction scheduling experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • You have a working knowledge of computer scheduling programs including MS Projects.
  • You have the ability to manage the schedules for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have experience working as part of a construction project team and have been exposed to on-site construction.
  • You communicate clearly and effectively, in alignment with Reliance Construction’s Values, and promote collaborative problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite but particularly excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good organizational and management skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work well under constant pressure of deadlines.
  • Experience within the GTA region specifically with high rise residential, multi purpose residential and institutional construction projects.
