Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, the Generalist assists in the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture department. The People & Culture Generalist assists with the administration and evolution of the following functional areas: departmental and organizational improvements, Human Resource informational systems (HRIS) and filing, employee relations, training and development, onboarding, benefits, leave of absence, and all associated compliance. The People & Culture Generalist supports HR practices and objectives that will provide a team-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, equality, productivity, standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of a thriving workforce. Compensation: $34.00-42.00 per hour Annual Discretionary Bonus Program Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance 401k with matching Annual pay raises Holiday pay Paid Time Off- Up to 80 hours with increasing amounts based on your years of service Responsibilities: Provides a high-level of support and responsiveness to TransWest team members; ensures questions and concerns are properly and completely addressed. Maintain employee-related records, files, and databases. Responsible for processing all team member changes in a timely and accurate manner. Administers leave of absence: understanding of FMLA, WA Paid Family Leave, and workers comp; provides support and information for leave programs, oversees leave of absence tracking, and maintains communication with managers and those out on leave to ensure regular updates and smooth coordination of start and end of leave processes. Benefits administration: manage team member enrollment, qualifying events, and COBRA; provide general support to team members (questions, challenges, etc.); participate in open enrollment initiatives Responsible for management of unemployment claims, responding in a timely manner and conveying information sufficiently and accurately. Maintains a regular presence at TransWest bus yards/hubs for engagement and support purposes.
