In addition, the position is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with employment laws, designing and delivering employee training programs, managing full-cycle recruiting, and overseeing employee relations. The position supervises a Human Resources Generalist while also supporting strategic HR initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervision Leads, mentors, and manages HR staff. Delegates tasks, monitors workloads, and ensures team meets and supports a compliant, skilled, and engaged workforce. Employee Relations Serves as primary point of contact for employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances. Conducts investigations into workplace complaints and recommends appropriate resolutions, with support of HR staff. Promotes and reinforces company culture. Compliance Monitors and interprets federal, state, and local employment regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, OFCCP). Maintains and updates HR policies and employee handbook. Conducts regular HR audits (handbooks, job descriptions, I-9 forms, wage/hour practices) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices. Prepares and submits mandatory government reporting (e.g., EE0-1). Partners with outside resource to complete affirmative action plan. Investigates compliance-related complaints and partners with outside resource(s) (e.g., legal counsel, HR consultant) when needed. Training & Development Assesses training needs through performance reviews, leadership input, survey’s, etc. Designs, schedules, and facilitates training sessions (e.g., new hire orientation, company initiatives, etc.) Manages the learning management system (LMS); tracks completion rates and produces reports. Coordinates external training vendors and maintains training budget. Evaluates effectiveness of training programs; reports findings to leadership. Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Partners with hiring managers to create and/or update job descriptions and to define selection criteria. Executes full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference/background checks, and offer negotiation. Builds diverse candidate pipelines via job boards, campus events, employee referrals, social media, etc. Coordinates onboarding logistics and conducts new hire orientation sessions. Other Support Facilitates annual performance reviews, goal setting, and career development. Assists with other HR department responsibilities as needed (e.g., benefits administration, payroll, etc.). Performs other tasks as required.
