POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an entry-level IT Financial Analyst to join our FinOps team within the Office of the CIO (OCIO). This role will support the financial operations of the IT organization by tracking spend against budget, ensuring financial accuracy controls, maintaining audit readiness, and adhering to compliance standards. The analyst will assist with budget planning, forecasting, and developing insights that drive strategic decision-making.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas); Power BI or other BI/reporting tools a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance awareness.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in IT finance, cloud economics, and process automation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Familiarity with IT cost structures (hardware, software, cloud services, labor).
• Exposure to ERP or financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday).
• Understanding of FinOps concepts (Inform, Optimize, Operate).
• Awareness of SOX compliance requirements.

SOFT SKILLS:

• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Clear and concise communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, especially in compliance-driven environments.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across IT, Finance, Procurement, and other teams.
• Adaptability and learning agility, with a curiosity for new tools, automation, and FinOps practices.
• Proactive problem-solving and ownership of tasks from start to finish.
