As our next Lead Frontend Engineer, you’ll become part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team based in our vibrant Melbourne office—with flexible hybrid work arrangements. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with the CTO and Development Manager to set the direction for Lifebroker’s frontend technologies and best practices. You’ll lead the development of intuitive, high-performing user interfaces that help Australians make confident decisions about their financial wellbeing. This is a unique opportunity to help build a new platform from the ground up, shape our modern tech stack, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team. In this role you will: Lead on front-end tooling to increase team productivity and enforce coding standards: Drive efficiency within the frontend team by implementing and maintaining effective tooling and ensuring adherence to high-quality coding standards. Design and develop responsive, performant user interfaces using React and TypeScript: Architect and build robust and user-friendly interfaces leveraging your deep expertise in React and TypeScript. Implement Micro Frontends architecture to create independent, maintainable application modules: Design and implement a scalable frontend architecture using micro frontends to enable independent development and deployment of application features. Apply Atomic Design principles to create reusable UI components that improve consistency and ease of maintenance across the application: Establish and enforce a component-based design system using Atomic Design principles to ensure UI consistency and simplify maintenance. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality code standards: Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring the team adheres to best practices and high-quality coding standards. Mentor team members and help improve team proficiency in frontend technologies: Provide guidance and mentorship to frontend team members, fostering their technical growth and improving the overall proficiency of the team Qualifications Architecture: Contribute your architectural vision and expertise to the design and development of new features and platforms, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
